09.) BLOG POST: Milestone Projects

Part One: Highlights
1.) My First Definition

2.) Milestone 1: 2-D Parametric Design
 Shapes made in Rhino

 Laser cut pieces

3.) Milestone 2: Parametric Vessel

4.) Milestone 3 Algorithmic Deposition Modelling:

5.) Milestone 4:

Part Two: Reflection
1.) What was the biggest challenge for you in OBDF 310?
The biggest challenge for me is to remember all the functions in Grasshopper, some of them are too hard to understand.
2.) What was your greatest success  in OBDF 310?
I learned a lot in this class and I'm really confident in making models in Rhino.
3.) How might you use any of the tools/processes from this semester in future projects?
I can make business by selling my own designs online. Or make presents by using rhino.

08.) Algorithmic Surface Modelling + Animation

Here is the practise, not the final.
I think I need more time to figure out the animation. My computer keep crashing, and don't have enough space, and I keep changing my work.

single summary blog post

A brief summary of this work, I think using grasshopper to do ceramic printing is really fun and challenging, it is interesting to see digital patterns work on ceramics. I really want to print more objects but virus stopped me....

Here is the group work process
Nikki and I cannot access to school so our work remain the same.

the week before, Jeliane showed us her working process.
the final result is stunning!

Weekly blog post 2

This week I meet with my group and start printing out our own models

There are still some problems of the model. For example, the size of the model should be bigger than the one in rhino. And the base line should be thinner, my group mate helps me to make the base by using “offset” function. Thanks to my group.

Moreover. My model was intended to build with two layers, so the outside layer is different than the inside. But after printed out, it’s a little bit hard to see the texture because it is too small.

Here is the design. It looks so good in rhino. Because I can see both of the layers

But here is the reality........

I think I need to try change the size of the model. Or make another one, with only one layer.

05.) BLOG POST: Milestone Project 2: Parametric Design for Manufacturing

1.)  A screenshot of the definition

2.)  One or more HD render(s) of the final design

3.)  A photo of the mold

4.)  Photos of the castings

During this process, I learned a lot and I really enjoy it.
If I revisit the process, I will make the top of the vase smaller and also add more length to the top.
